Mechanism of action
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide derived from the helix-B region of erythropoietin. It is studied as a selective agonist of the innate repair receptor — a heterocomplex of the EPO receptor and the β-common receptor (CD131) — associated with tissue protection and anti-inflammatory signaling.
Importantly, it is non-erythropoietic, separating tissue-protective signaling from red-blood-cell effects, which makes it a focused research tool.
