Mechanism of action

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue. It activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) to stimulate growth-hormone release, and is distinctive in the research literature for additional interaction with the CD36 receptor, studied in cardiac-signaling models.

It is used as a research tool for both GH-secretagogue and cardiovascular-signaling investigation.
