02How They Differ

BPC-157

A synthetic gastric pentadecapeptide widely studied for angiogenic and cytoprotective signaling.

BPC-157 is a stable 15-amino-acid sequence derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. In research models it is most associated with the VEGFR2–Akt–eNOS signaling axis, where it has been reported to upregulate vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 and promote angiogenesis in endothelial cell assays.

KPV

The C-terminal α-MSH tripeptide studied for NF-κB and inflammatory-signaling modulation.

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Research focuses on its inhibition of NF-κB signaling and reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokine expression in cell models.

03Selecting for a Research Model

Because BPC-157 and KPV are both regenerative research compounds, they are frequently evaluated against one another. Selection depends entirely on the research question, model system, and endpoints being measured. Both compounds are supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research and are not for human or veterinary use.

Whichever you select, every Ethos Bio lot is verified the same way — a five-point independent panel with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis. See how we test →

04FAQ

What is the difference between BPC-157 and KPV?

BPC-157 is a regenerative research compound — A synthetic gastric pentadecapeptide widely studied for angiogenic and cytoprotective signaling. KPV is also studied within the regenerative area — The C-terminal α-MSH tripeptide studied for NF-κB and inflammatory-signaling modulation. They differ in molecular weight (BPC-157: 1,419.5 g/mol; KPV: 410.51 g/mol) and primary mechanism. Both are supplied for laboratory research use only.

What are the molecular weights of BPC-157 and KPV?

BPC-157 has a molecular weight of 1,419.5 g/mol. KPV has a molecular weight of 410.51 g/mol.

Are BPC-157 and KPV in the same research class?

Yes — both BPC-157 and KPV are categorized as Regenerative research compounds, which is why they are often compared.

How are BPC-157 and KPV tested?

Both are analyzed by an independent third-party laboratory (MZ Biolabs, Arizona) on a five-point panel — HPLC purity, mass-spectrometry identity, endotoxin, heavy metals, and sterility — with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis provided per lot.
